Anthony York of Northampton Sailing Club clinches lead at RS600 National Championships: Day 2
Second day of RS600 National Championship at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy brought a new leader in the overall standings. Anthony York of Northampton Sailing Club clinched a couple of races on Day 2 to finish on top with 21 points. He replaced
Day 1 leader, Jamie Mawson, who is now on second overall spot with a ten point difference at 31 points.
The weather conditions were quite strong at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy in Weymouth Bay on Day 2. The wind was blowing around 16 to 18 knots with heavy gusts over the racing area at Weymouth Bay. These shifty strong conditions made the races
more exciting and the sailors had a superb sail on Day 2 of the tournament.
Four races commenced on Day 2 of RS600 National Championships. In first two races, the first day leaderboard, Jamie Mawson clinched the top places while Anthony York sailed superbly in the next two races to finish on top of the score line with 21 points.
Mawson is now 10 points behind York on second place with 31 points, while Jason Rickards hit third spot with 36 points.
The overall standings of RS600 National Championship at the end of Day 2 are given below:
