  1. Think you could do a comparative analysis of different corporations, multinational vs. domestic, international vs. domestic, across different industries, comparisons in size, intragroup analysis of departmental cultures.

Or go on a smaller scale to examine regional variations in small businesses and franchises.  Elaborate on various work ethics, variations of rights and obligations, hierarchical structures, etc...

I've only worked for one company the last several years, so don't really have a point of reference to compare.

  2. I'm not sure what you are asking.  Are you asking what "take" to use to give anthropological perspective to a paper about work or work habits?

If so, you might discuss things like historical averages of hours per week or division of tasks by gender, age, location, or similar anthropological observations to compare it to current trends.  You could compare similar observations from different societies today - how is work divided  by gender in communities under stress, for example.  (war, famine, flood, recovery - who is doing the physical labor of rebuilding the Gulf Coast or New Orleans, for example?  I've heard that non-native workers are really changing some aspects of the street culture there.)

Are you asking what the perspectives are for research you plan to do?  You'd need to discuss that with your instructor or research committee.
