Question:

Anthropology/ Is the creation museum a GOOD thing?

I am an atheist evolutionist. I was originally annoyed by the creationist museum that was created in Kentucky. However, I realized something:

The creation museum teaches honest people a very important lesson. It teaches us that some humans will go to extreme lengths to deceive. It teaches us to distrust authorities and to think critically, particularly on subjects that are prone to blind bias. Such critical thinking is the very core of science. I therefore support the creation museum.

So, what do you fellow atheist evolutionists think about that?

  1. I think that things must be created before they can evolve, created by what may never be known though! I can take it or leave it, i'm sure money is going into someone's pocket and that is all that matters. That is the American way, "greed"!

  2. I was all set to agree,l then I looked at Pixie Girl's answer. Give these people even a delusional inch and they will take a mile. Deception has been their most powerful tool from the beginning. I think it is time we opposed them vehemently.

  3. It is just an exemple of how our society is evolving... Creationism has never been teach in class, but still arise and get enough funds to make a dedicated museum... So my guess is that we are witness of the power of money against the power of science in our society. I guess that by now, all science researchs belongs to the ones that have the most power financially, so they can impose their ideas and ideals...

Things that are quite dangerous to say the least...

Money cannot justify the way our civilization is developing, its a mere tool to develop it, but now it drives EVERYTHING.

  4. Wot about Wiccan evolutionists??

The bloke who started it was an Aussie.  As an Aussie I apologise for his idiocy.

No - unless it shows the different alternatives, it's just an exercise in brain washing.

    .

  5. I think it's a great place for young Christians to explore their beliefs. It wasn't made for atheist evolutionist.

  6. The museum goes a long way toward demonstrating how many dangerously ignorant people there are in this country.

Is that a good or bad thing?

  7. Absolutely not.  The general American public is already incredibly deceived about evolution and creationism \.  With this museum, which claims there is evidence for creationism, Americans will further believe that creationism is an equal idea alongside evolution, backing the saying "evolution is only a theory."

On the other hand, maybe we should take Chad's stance (below).  Since we do not yet fully understand evolution, and do not have dating methods that give us the date of a material within the exact day, maybe we should give up and say God did everything.  After all, it's a lot easier that way...

And since both sides are based in evidence - oh wait.  That's not true.  Wow, Satan sure is doing a good job of deceiving us - producing fossils, technology, etc.

Hopefully you can tell this is sarcasm.  Evolution doesn't even clash with the Bible, so this is completely ridiculous.  Only in America would this happen.

  8. I don't care much for sideshows but I do like those wavy mirrors that make me look all funny. My brother and I used to compete making funny faces to reflect in the chrome toaster.

  9. Yes, Satan will go to even to further lenths to deccive people like you. Evolutionist are very galluble people to believe in/trust such a fariy tail religin as evolution. You are decived my friend. Look into the fact that destroy the evolutionary thery/religion. Read this and think about the facts.

Scientist have no clue about how old the earth really is, they all will say different time periods. Look into things like  the sun's gas burn off every second and the earths rotation rates and the sea's salt intake every year. These things effect life drastically. Billions of years is detrimental for life period (use common sense, lay out the true facts)! You have to research both sides creation and evolution with an open mind. Look at creation science web sites, it makes a lot more sense than evolution. The scientist whom discovered the human geno pool converted to Christianity about 4 yrs ago because he balanced the supporting facts and seen that evolution is mostly baseless. There are so many different laws and elements that have to be present at the same time just for the world to exist period. Darwin thought about the eye and thought when some thing is not benifical to evolution it will cease to exist. The eye is a very complex system of billions of vains and nerves that can produce a better focus than even the best cameras. It would do no good for an animal to be blind for a million years waiting for the eye to finally evolve site therefore it would be eliminated before evolution was able to make use of it. Just think about all the other complex systems of your body and how many factors have to come into play at the exact same time (no way for them to wait a million years for all their components to evolve) for it to exist  without  them, for instance your digestion system would not work therefor you would die. There is no evidence (research all the fraud that they still put into text books today like the theory that we once had fish gills and Piltdown man which was built around a pigs tooth) that supports evolution, monkeys are still monkeys and always will be. A person can make  millions for a “discovery” that supports the evolutionary theory, and  some evolutionist would do what ever it takes to disprove Gods existences. It's kinda funny how us humans are the only "species" on earth that have caught on to civilization and very advanced technology, No animals have tried to build cars or atomic bombs, maybe mud huts. You can teach an ape sign language as you can teach dogs and many animals tricks but they will never turn around train another animal to build a computer. We humans are perfectly designed from God's image to be able to build, think and do many things that animals will never be capable of doing. We are here for a reason. Don't get brain washed by secular philosophy look at life and answers with an open mind. Try reading the bible a put down the philosophy and science books for a little while. Look at john 3:16 to find out how to have eternal life and try a bible believing church, God changed my and I was a huge skeptic. God bless Chad

  10. I am more of an agnostic evolutionist, but I think the Museum of Creation has a place among other museums, if only as a documentary of man's philosophical history.

When people go into a museum, their reactions vary according to both the overall theme of the museum and the items displayed there.  Reactions include, "Wow!"  "That's really interesting!"  "I never knew that before!"  "It's strange the way people used to think."  "They've made some marvelous improvements, haven't they?"  "I'm sure glad we don't have that around any more."  "We know so much more than the people who invented that, don't we?"  and so on.

I think people who visit this museum will have several of the above reactions to its contents, and that's perfectly OK.
