What is the largest type or primate ever to have existed?

it is theorized that Gigantopithecus may have been as much as 9 feet tall.  Unfortunately, the only part of them ever found has been the teeth, which are very large.  However, as we can see by examining the robust Australopithecines - tooth size can be a misleading way to estimate full body size.

The largest living primate is the male gorilla, estimated at about 450 pounds.

Gigantopithecus, an enormous extinct primate that fed primarily off bamboo and plants. It is possible that the species Homo Erectus came into contact with it but they probably didn't hunt the fully grown adult primates much. It lived in Asia.
