  1. Classics/archaeology would suit you very well then.  I prefer applied anthro =)

  2. I guess if its what your heart wants then go for it!

  3. I'm currently majoring in anthropology at UofT.  It can be classified as a science or a social science, depending on what aspect you focus on.  If you are interested in biological or forensic anthropology or archaeology, it is considered a science.  If you are interested in cultural or linguistic anthropology, it is considered a social science.

An undergraduate degree takes 3 or 4 years (depending on whether you get honours).  If you want masters, 1 more year, and a PhD - 4 additional years (approximately).

This is a link to the career centre at my school and all the possible jobs for anthropology graduates as well as those who employ them.

    Hope this helps!

Have you considered classics?  It is the study of ancient civilizations but from a historical perspective as opposed to an anthropological one.

  4. Teacher, archaeology, museum work, sociologist, state worker (like helping the poorer folk find housing) etc...bachlors...4 years, state of oregon requires 2 year degree to work for them or experience...

  5. You must have some science background, but fortunately for you, Anthropology is classified as a Social Science.
