I just got a new Ford F-150 (and its awesome)

My dad wants to make sure this new vehicle is protected so he bought me a Club.... ugly big red hunk of metal....

Are there better alternatives to this thing? I know LoJack is like $700, but thats kind of up there.

and yes, I do lock it

  1. Try a Viper, easy install, inexpensive and they work . Also programmable for various things . Had one installed in my Bronco for $135 , parts & labor.

  2. the passive anti theft or PATS system that ford puts in the F-150 is better then any after market system you can buy. it takes me less then 30 seconds to by-pass an after market alarm. it takes a blank key, a $5000 machine and 12 minutes to by-pass the PATS system. talk to your insurance company and ask them how many of these trucks are stolen and how.

  3. my montero ignition got lock and the anti theft signal kept flashing even when the key is not in the ignition. what do i do..

I called the dealer and you have to kiss their *** and give up some cash or maybe try letting the battery reset by undoing the neg. batt. terminal wait 30 min and try again.

Check for a broken wire at the key cylinder or on the steering column.

  4. Rottweilers, about six of them. Works for me! I don't even need to take the keys out.

Nothing that can't "bite back" will stop a professional car thief, this other stuff might stop a rookie.

  5. No vehicle is truly safe and if you really want to keep it then go with the LoJack, it cost alot but your insurance will drop and pay for it over time.........
