Question:

Anti-Depressants?

I have suffered from depression almost all my life. I have tried at least 6 or 7 different prescriptions which have all kept my depression at bay. They all tend to have the same common side effect of weight gain though. I was recently changed to Effexor, which I was told has actually helped people lose weight while on it. I have gained even more weight since the switch. I have tried Welbutrin, Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and a few others. In the 10 or 11 years I have been on these meds, I have gained about 80 pounds! Does anyone have any suggestions of a prescription or even herbal anti-depressant that won't keep packing the pounds on??

  2. Why don't you try alternatives to medicine?

    Accupuncture

    Homeopathy

    Yoga & meditation

    EFT

    BSFF

  3. St. John's Wort, Choline, B-12, RUNNING, and a Raw Food diet will alleviate depression, rebalance your system after all the medications, and get rid of the excess weight.

Running is, quite seriously, the best thing for depression.  I don't know why doctors don't tell people that.  If you can't run, any repetitive up and down motion will release endorphins: jumping on a trampoline, jumping rope, jogging in a pool....

A raw food diet will give your energy the boost I'm sure it needs right now.
