Question:

Anti Smoking Toddler Verses Smoking Grandfather

If your toddler asked his smoking Grandfather, *Why he wanted to die?* when he caught him smoking, what would you do??

Our nearly 3yo, asked his Grandfather this, and I support his question completely. It however apparently upset his Grandfather, and I have been told (by his Grandparents & Aunts) to make him apologise.

Now our near 3yo sees all those Anti smoking ads around (if your Australian you know the ones I am talking about) & he honestly believes smoking is disgusting and thinks people shouldn't do it - And is very opinionated about this. We both support his question, but my husband doesn't like fighting with his family as much as I do.

I have asked them millions of times not to smoke on our farm, or around our children, but they don't listen to me.

Would you back your toddler up on this question & tell them all to get over it?

Or make him apologise, explaining there is double standards for his Grandparents?

  1.  This Toddler should be appreciated at at this very small age when hardly he is just speaking and he knows that smoking is wrong. And it is very true fact nothing wrong in it. He should not ever apologies to smoker grandpa.

On the other hand grandpa instead of getting exciting and making others go crazy should learn lesson out from the incidence rather then showing any kind of attitude.

And your husband should be resend to school so that he can also learn what things are good and what bad. He should appreciate his brave son.
