Anti earth hour 08!?

I was wondering who will be turning on all lights at 8 pm for Power Hour 08'. since global warming is a scam used to grow goverment. please answer with your idea's and suggestions.

Yes, while everyone else is walking into walls, I will be watching tv in my bright room.  If they want to make an earth hour, do it at 3am while everyone is asleep, they'll get 98% participation that way.

I don't agree that caring about the environment is used to grow governement.  I'm a conservative and a Environmentalist.  You can not spend a dime or add to the size of government to be environmentally conscience... you can actually reduce your spending (ie I get 10-25% better gas mileage than stated ratings... and I drive fast).

In order to get the same light from candles as you would from 1 typical 60 watt light bulb you would put 20 times more Carbon Emissions into the Environment... how does this reduce our carbon footprint?

Since "global warming is a scam used to grow government power"?  Get real.  These people are hardly fans of government.

And the idea that the National Academy of Sciences is scamming the public is simply not credible.  By the way, very few of the members of this eminent group of the very best scientists get any funding for global warming.

OK well those who have not realised that global warming is no scam and it is a problem that we are all going to face. now i admit their are other issues apart from global warming eg obesity but that does not mean that you have to turn every appliance every light and drive your car for the sake of it. if you don't want to participate you don't have to you can just act normally. By the way earth hour in 2007 resulted in a massive energy drop of 10.2%  and showed we saved 24.86 tonnes of C02 which is equal to taking 48,618 cars off the road for an hour GLOAL WARMING IS NOT A SCAM IT IS REAL YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO FACE IT SOONER OR LATER

Lights off or on, nothing we do will make much difference.

Soon the coastal cities will flood, the banks will shut down. There will be chaos and ugly wars all over the place, and we will not be able to play yahoo Q & A anymore.

I say buy a 4WD and go find a cave (far from any cities) to hid in, before the rush begins

totally. turn on all of your lights at 8. and maybe turn on some computers and tv's. global warming is a scam. I mean really turning off some lights. What is that going to do? Did u know that there still is electricity running through an object? I think that people still dont get that there is still electricity being used when a lamp is still plugged in. What I mean is there is still electricity going to the light bulb but because when the switch is off the electricity isn't powering light. I mean the circut is open and not going to the bulb. When you click/twist/flick on the switch it is closing the circut making the appliance work. so unless you unplug the stuff you will be using the same amount of energy.

I decided to throw the neighbors breaker while their lights are off, I think it will take them an extra hour or two to figure why their lights dont come back on & will save twice as much electricity.

oops! their walking around burning smokey air polluting candles over there. there go's the environment!
