  1. Some people ( usually with high astigmatism) do not do as well in Poly lens. Now if your Prescription has changed you will do better to start wearing the new Rx in the morning when your eyes are not tired. The anti glare would not affect you with this. If your Rx is new it can take up to a week for you to adjust to the new prescription. Don't switch back and forth between a new and old prescription or your eyes can not adjust. Fair warning on the AR Coating it will scratch very easily. Only clean the lens with mild soap and water or spray lens cleaner. If you use paper towel or any paper product or glass product it will ruin the lens. AR does great for glare reduction and may help some but it really depends on the environments you wear glasses if you are in a dusty or dirty area say for work or play they are not a good option.

  2. It really depends on what you're dong while you are feeling the eye strain...if you are doing a lot of computer work, driving at night or spending a lot of time under artificial lights than an AR coating would help.  A poly or polycarbonate lens is a good option for the majority of prescriptions but a small percentage of people cannot adapt to it and if you have a very strong Rx you might benefit more from a high index lens.

You may hear that an AR coating can scratch easily but if it is cared for properly it won't...just use a proper lens cleaner and a soft cloth (no paper products) you should be fine...I wouldn't recommend using any type of soap, you just end up building up a film that it hard to clean off.
