Anti-perspirant burns?

Question

When ever I get out of the shower, or the pool, and I put on my deodorant (stick) and my armpits begin to burn for about 10 minutes

Could this be an allergy?

Note: It does not happen when I put it on without just getting out of the shower.

this happenes to me some times. i think it is because the water from the shower opens your pors then the deoderent is like pouring salt is a open wond.

Maybe its reacting with the water or something in the water like the chlorine. I think there are trace amounts of chlorine in tap water.
