Anti-virus XP 2008 problem! How in the world can I remove it?

Question

ok soooo every time I would visit a certain site ex: myspace I would be directed to the anti-virus xp 2008 webiste or if I would click on any link on google it would take me to some advertisement site pretty much any site I would go! Its sooooo annoying. It even self installed itself ( its icon showed up on my taskbar! I have spysweeper, spybot, and super antivirus and none have been able to fully remove it!

I cant even create a restore point or even try to fix errors on my drives! it says windows is unable to.

how can I resolve this and bring my comp back to normal!

o man dude you are in for it, you have a really bad virus, my friend had one similar to that one, my recomedation is run spybot search and distroy here is a link

it seems like every one is have problems with this  xp av 2008 i would just ack up pic videos and doc stuff like that and reforamtt my pc and if you want get a ad blocker like superadblock same company as superantispyware and use firefox to block popups and get zonealarm to stop stuff from getting in

if its in your task bar you can disable it by clicking on

start

run

ms config

startup

check the box of the program (i disable all of them because im running xpsp2)

restart your pc

anti virus 2008 is a very BAD virus you need to download AVG free make sure you turn off system restore to get there right click my computer properties click the tab that says system restore then turn it off if you dont the virus will just keep coming back hope the helps

also try this go into my computer click on Local Disk C: go into program files find antivirus 2008 and delete the folder make sure you turn off system resote you wont be able to remove it if you dont

sometimes viruses hide in your registry so download a program called ccleaner and run that too

also download and these and run scans with them

Spybot - Search & Destroy

Windows Defender comes with vista so if you have vista dont download

First get some good computer protection.

A very good, free anti-virus available to download is AVG 8 Anti-virus:

And for any spyware problems, get SpyBot - Search and Destroy:

Also, for protecting your personal info and files, use Ad-Aware 2008 Free Edition:

All of them are free, as powerful as paid programs, like Norton and McAfee, and don't use up as many resources.

Just boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 when turning on the computer) and run full scans.
