Anti-zoo websites ?

Question

I'm doing a speech on how cruel zoo's are and I'd like some websites for research.

And if anyone else has any information on how zoo's are cruel then it'll be much appreciate.

In the U.S., there are certain minimum standards a zoo must meet to be accredited.  Any zoo not meeting these minimums could safely, I believe, called cruel.  Many zoos go far beyond these minimums, providing extra space and good sensorial stimulation (say, fish-sicles where fish are frozen in buckets of water, or food hidden to encourage foraging).  The closer to natural habitat, the better for the animal.

The worst zoo in the world would be I think Ahmadabad zoo..they keep animals in concrete rooms.

Though I am supportive of zoos more mostly in the US but I just to say be careful where you get your info to support your claims because I know some sights might leave out other important info. I read the PETA website before, not a fan of PETA by the way, and talking about animal escapes and deathes they put in info(along with left out) they countered their claims. Such as the Jabari escape at the Dallas Zoo people taunted him along with a death of a polar bear in Saint Louis when he swallowed something a person threw into his exhibit. To me this is more of people being stupid and without this there would have been no incident. I think mostly the crueler zoos are found outside the US, like anothe person said the standards in the US are high and the zoos go beyond those to make sure the animals are comfortable.
