  1. i had exactly th same problem and i posted a Q i got ans which helped me a lot .u cannot delete them because they might be running.u cannot use SYSTEM RESTORE cuz it deletes all the previous restore points.if u have turned system restore off before being infected.then u can restore to earlier p[oints.DO THIS TRUST ME I GOT RID OF ATHAT c**p USING THIS METHOD.

first uninstall AVG and install AVAST from download.com

RUN a boot time scan to find viruses hiding in memory

    2..download super anti spyware

    3. download ccleaner

now u got all the materials

first do a scan with super anti spyware thgis app scans and find that ANTI VIRUS XP2008 which is actually a ROUGUE ANTIVIRUS which makes false statements and will remove that .after it has been removed

go to start programs and type msconfig

in start ups uncheck the one with a random name like hcccffgghh

start ccleaner scan ur registry and clean

THATS IT that c**p is OUT of ur pc and our sys is safe.

  2. Firstly, antivirus programs will NOT remove these as they are malicious codecs, although they may find reference to them and remove it but upon rebooting it's back again.

Therefore you need to use a 'layered' approach to removing this parasite.

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant...

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

    Spybot S&D:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...

Download, install, update and Immunize, then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked'

    SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:

    http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

Lavasoft Virtumonde Remover will find and clean the variants of the Virtumonde (a.k.a Vundo Trojan), that integrate tightly with the operating system, causing some scanners to bluescreen windows

    http://www.download.com/Virtumonde-Remov...

If your desktop has changed or icons are missing also use:

    Wallpaper Hijacker Removal Tool:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Wallpaper_Hija...

Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.

  3. Try spybot search and destroy,it worked for me

  4. the problem is the file is still in use.

hit ctrl+alt+del once and you'll see task manager

one of those system processes running is using this KLG.DAT.

you need to end processes one at a time until the file is released and

can be deleted.   I agree a good way to do this is reboot in safe mode.

or you can hit start -> run -> msconfig... it will give you options to

restart without any extra programs starting, this antivirus xp program

plants itself there in your startup folder.. uncheck it so it won't start.

reboot and then re-run your antivirus scans.

sadly, my wife picked up this bug, I killed it and removed it, but now

the computer shuts itself off at night.

I'll be watching your answers, maybe someone's seen this before.

  5. Antivirus XP 2008 is a suspect anti-spyware application that have a set of features which do not work, and produces false positives which may goad the user into purchasing the application. Antivirus XP 2008 show various pop-up advertisements and fake security messages, which may disturb your work and slow down computer performance. Antivirus XP 2008 is a clone of XP Antivirus fake antispyware. It is recomended to remove Antivirus XP 2008 from your computer.

  6. Go to this link for instructions. http://www.xp-vista.com/spyware-removal/...

  7. This web site provide a very detail list of instructions for the removal.

    http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/xp-anti...

I found that it is better than any answer here.

  8. start your computer in safe mode with networking by tapping the F8 key while it is booting up...uninstall avg from the control panel..add/remove programs....download the free home version of avast from www.avast.com and run a boot time scan which is part of the set up..it will remove those nasty viruses and a few other things that avg missed....it also has awesome resident protection....cheers

  9. The manual uninstall can be found here:

    http://www.xp-vista.com/spyware-removal/...

But I believe there is a nice program called Malware Bits that will take this program off.  Just do a scan in safe mode and you should be fine...

Malware bits can be downloaded here:
