Hello,

I'm 13, i have acne on my cheeks and back. I went to the doctors today, she told me that I'd need Antibiotics but in the end she gave me Erythromycin will these still work good?

I took an Erythromycin tablet at around 11:55 A.M, it says "ONE to be taken TWICE daily" what time should i take the next one e.g. 6:00 P.M etc.

Many thanks.

  1. You should be asking your doctor these questions if you're not sure what you're getting and ingesting. Erythromycin IS an anti-biotic. It's one of hundreds of different anti-biotics.

  2. Erythromycin IS an antibiotic.

You should try to space the doses evenly.  What works best for most people is one in the morning and one in the evening, about 12 hours apart (such as 7:00 am and 7:00 pm).

  3. Erythromycin IS an anti-biotic.

A low dose of this type of anti-biotic is perfect for acne.

You would usually take one in the morning after breakfast and another after tea.

But since you took yours at around lunch time, leave the next dose until about 8 tonight.

A BD (twice daily) dose is OK to take 8 hourly.
