Anticipation on the rise as Frankel’s seasonal debut in the JLT Lockinge Stakes inches closer
There is an excitement buzzing among trainers, owners, and horse-racing fans as Frankel, the undefeated colt trained by Sir Henry Cecil will compete in the JLT Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on 19th May, 2012.
The son of Galileo, out of mare Kind, will be aiming to succeed against six other competitors, who are just as tough and difficult to beat.
Frankel’s fans were terrified about the news of Frankel being retired due to an injury he incurred, but the news was labelled “false” by the colt’s connections later.
Owned by Khalid Abdulla, the bay colt pretty much has the complete package consisting of speed, skill, and stamina to down this race.

Over the course of his short career, he has stunned spectators everywhere with his ability to win.
Out of nine starts, he has nine victories and if he succeeds in this, it will be his lucky number ten, which will also be a magnificent start to his season.
In order to prepare for this race, the four-year-old has been going through work-outs to improve his form.
In this Group 1 race, Frankel will compete against Bullet Train, Dubawi Gold, Excelebration, Ransom Note, and Strong Suit.
Trainer Richard Hannon has entered two of his runners, Dubawi Gold and Strong Suit in this race, stating that they have what it takes to win the race.

However, he was a little doubtful about, Strong Suit making the line-up if the surface of the track was too soft.
"If there's any soft in the ground he probably may not run," Hannon stated to the press.
"Dubawi Gold definitely runs."
Excelebration, son of Exceed And Excel, out of mare, Sun Shower, will be facing off with Frankel for the fourth time as he lost to Frankel three times, once at Newbury and twice at Ascot.
The rivalry will be renewed in this race and the A.P O’Brien trained will try to defeat the undefeated runner.
The D. Smith, Mrs. J. Magnier and M. Tabor owned colt is in good shape, as he recently scored in the Group 3 Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes at Curragh on 22ndApril, 2012, where he defeated Croisultan.
