  1. Both SSRI's, like Prozac, and atypicals, like Wellbutrin, have been shown to have harmful side effects. However, there are several other treatments for depression that have been shown to be as effective or more so than drugs. Your depression may be caused by a deficiency in Folate or Omega-3 fatty acids. You can begin by either taking supplements (Folate is a B vitamin and the best source of Omega-3 is fish oil) or eating a diet high in green leafy vegetable and fish.

Based on the current research most effective treatment we have for depression is a lightbox. I recommend the one sold here: https://www.drfuhrman.com/shop/DayLight....

Also, counseling is as effective as antidepressants without any of the bad side-effects. You can visit my site to learn about phone counseling http://www.coherencecounseling.com

  2. its called the bible

  3. Wellbutrin - Generic as bupropion does not cause people to gain weight. Quite the opposite - they lose it. However it's not a good choice if you have anxiety problems with your depression. Besides that, it's one of the best antidepressants out there.

Effexor and Cymbalta can cause either weight loss or weight gain, but seem to be rather neutral. It depends on what dosage you're at, and how your body works. Hit or miss.

Stay away from the TCA antidepressants, they always cause weight gain.

Some of the MAOIs will not cause weight gain, but if you're at the point where you're trying one of them, you won't be caring about how much you weigh.
