I recently started taking some antidepressant/anxiety pills and they make me feel like a new person, they're great. However, I was wondering if you have to continue taking the medicine for it to still have these changes? Like if I quit taking it will I still feel good?

  1. It works differently for different people. For all antidepressant medicines it takes a few weeks before it actually works effectively.

Some people have to be on it long term. Even being on it for up to a year is not unusual. So it depends on the individual and how long they need therapy. It is also important that when your doctor decides you can come off the medicine, you should taper it down slowly. Don't stop taking it abruptly.

  2. This is the kind of question that is very important to discuss with your doctor.  If you ever have questions or concerns about anything you are taking, you should consult you physician.
