  1. Well of course there are risks, those are worse for children teens and young adults, like twenty. So only use them in if they're necessary, definitely consult a doctor for further questions. The main risk in young people is suicidal thoughts, which can obviously be deadly.

  2. St. Johns Wort is suppose to help with mild depression. It's worth a shot.  Counseling can really helpful too. I would try both of these before resorting to medication. Good luck!

  3. I'd do some things before resorting to medication... eat very healthy, do 30 minutes or more of aerobic exercise every morning, get lots of sun or use a light box, try supplements like Omega 3 (1-2 grams of the EPA ingredient), remain social, reassess your environment and life situation (change it if problematic), make time to relax each day, and see a therapist for six months or longer if the others don't work.  Mild depression, especially if it's recent, can often be beat without medication.  If all of those don't work, then I'd try antidepressants.  They can be very helpful, but most medication comes with side effects and those have to be more tolerable than your depression without the medication to be worth taking.

  4. stick to your meds until your doc says otherwise, your on them for a reason, i thought i got over my depression stopped taking my meds then guess what, i was depressed again, stick to them till your cured, you be on them for the rest of your life

  5. If you are aware that you are depressed, and it's that mild,  I'm sure a good therapist could give you the tools (not drugs) you need to handle it.

  6. If you are feeling better, talk to your doctor about possibly coming off the Wellbutrin.  If you are still depressed, maybe you still need to take medication.  Discuss with your doctor your concern about having to depend on medication.  Good Luck.

  7. If you are having serious side effects you need to see your Doctor about this. Sometimes you feel better and want to stop taking the drug but some side effects go away or they get worse. Have you tried biofeedback from a Therapist?

In some cases drugs and therapy are used in combination. Some antidepressents may increase suicide ideations but like all drugs there are benefits, side effects and adverse reactions. Good luck get well
