Antifouling?

do i have to use the same one for sea water and for fresh water ? is there a difference,what do you recommend ,brands.etc.... thank you

  1. No you don't, but you can. If you're in fresh water, go with the cheapest antifouling coating you can get- there's still slime to be had, but you're not going to get the suite of stuff that grows on a marine hull. I'd suggest avoiding an ablative coating if you're going to be swimming around the boat, unless you enjoy poisonous blue streaks.


  2. Joton do some good anti fouls. if your hull is ally u can use joton seasafe ultra, it slows the growth down put it's not real durable to scrub. jotamasitc 87 is a good hard paint you can scrub and will last for years.

  3. What you use depends on where you are.  Salt or fresh, warm or cold water.  See a local marina or visit the Petit or Interlux web-site and see what is good for your area.
