Antique Question-I it valuable?

My mum has just polished up the end of an old cane which has been in the family for years. It has a name on it -e.Jh.Roehl and the year is -1714 .Does anyone know if it is of any value as i think not.

This was an insurance name for travel pubs similar to the

   aaa or howard johnsons network.  In that early date the

   canes were left around to encourage people to try their

   taverns that were consistent in foods, lodge and soaps.

   Still a soap family now associated with rolls royce the

    company has had many competitors  and is quite eclectic.
