Antivirus 2009 what is it?

Somehow a program called Antivirus 2009 installed itself to my computer saying my computer is at risk and for me to run it. Is this a virus? I can't seem to delete it. It's on my taskbar and i can't seem to delete it on my control panel screen. Can someone please help me. Thanks

Antivirus 2009 is an unwanted program, from the authors of Antivirus 2008 . These applications have resembling interface and "features". After stealth installation, Antivirus 2009 will show tonns of fake spyware\adware detection messages and offers to remove reported threats (after you purchase commercial version). But in real Antivirus 2009 is not a spyware cleaner, it's just an imitation of spyware remover. Antivirus 2009 can also slow your computer and cause system errors and crashes. Remove Antivirus 2009 using manual removal instructions (for advanced users) or removal tool.

Antivirus 2009 what is it?  It a rogue Anti Virus program that tricks people while online into believing that their computer is infected and that they need to download this program or something else to get rid of the infection.

If people would just trust their own programs and nothing else people would not be infected by Antivirus 2009 or Antivirus 2008.

make sure you turn off system restore first and run this

an Uninstall probably won't work use counterspy and superantispyware - those two should get rid of it

Run ccleaner when you're done with those two applications and change your AV to avg free AV from free.grisoft.com - it's the best free AV and it works better than Symantec or McAfee
