Antivirus2009?

Question

My neighbor has been infected with this virus and it has all but shut down her internet. I have tried to erase it manually and it will not let me. We ran Norton free anti virus and it detected it but it will not remove it. Is there any trick to removing it manually? If not what Anti-Virus do you recommend purchasing. From what I can tell the virus has managed to protect itself from being removed manually. It gives an error message and will not erase. I cannot find it anywhere in the control panel. But it did create a false internet security center that it won't let me erase. Please help

Just start up the computer in safe mode and delete every file affiliated with the fake program along with the registry keys and it should be gone.

To start in safe mode with computer on:

1. From the Windows Start menu, click Run.

2. In the Open field, type MSCONFIG and click OK.

3. On the BOOT.INI tab, check /SAFEBOOT.

4. Click Restart when prompted.

Once restarted:

1. Go to My Computer.

2. Click on C.

3. Program Files.

4. Delete the files or folders related to Antivirus 2009.

5. Run "regedit."

6. Look to see if any keys are related to Antivirus 2009.

reinstall windows that should do the trick it may have a deadly virus so dont mess with it have it fixed by a pro trust me i know what im talking about i am very good at computers....

apparently you have internet, so you can print out the tutorial and follow it to remove antivirus 2009.

you can also download some anti-spyware tool, put the install on usb key or cd or whatever and bring it to your neighbor's computer.
