  1. I can understand your point about feeling embarrassed to speak with GP. The second best thing that you can do is go to your local pharmacy and speak with the pharmacist about your problem. He or she will then advise you on any over the counter antibiotics that you may be able to purchase to help deal with your condition.

(Many would assume that you cannot just walk into a pharmacy and request an antibiotic without the pharmacist or GP having seen the problem. However this is incorect. Take thrush (a common yeast infection) as an example. This condition causes itchiness of moist areas in the body. Informing the pharmacist of this and of other accompanying symptoms can lead to the patient purchasing canesten cream, which is an over the counter medicine, no prescription required)

If this does not work out then you need to seriously consider visiting your GP as the longer you ignore the problem the worse it can become.

Hope this helps and Good luck

  2. what are your symptoms?

  3. You can't just tell them you need an antibiotic for something. They have to see what you need it for.

  4. There are many different antibiotics, and the doctor will have to examine and diagnose you to know which is the right one to prescribe.

Try not to be embarrassed. This is his job!
