Despite getting the best out of a new look Paris Saint-Germain side, Antoine Kombouare has been given the boot by the Parisian club’s ownership with rumours suggesting that the Kanak coach could be replaced with Carlo Ancelotti
Despite ending the year 2011 at the top of the Ligue 1 standings, Paris Saint-Germain coach Antoine Kombouare has been shown the door by sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056. This information was revealed by AFP, which found the information through a source close to Kombouare.
The same source also says that the Kanak coach has already told his family about the news and his departure would be formally announced later on.
Kombouare arrived at PSG in the summer of 2009 from Valenciennes. Despite a difficult start to his first season at the club, Kombouare made the club a defensive fort in the 2010/2011 campaign in which the Parisians finished fourth in the final Ligue 1 standings.
However, his future became uncertain upon the arrival of QIA as the owners of the club. The Qataris always had a vision to make PSG one of the most glamorous clubs in European football. The arrival of Leonardo as the sporting director made things even more complicated for Kombouare.
A poor run of results in the month of November further weakened his position at the club with the likes of Carlo Ancelotti, Rafael Benitez and Trapattoni hotly linked with a move to Parc des Princess.
However, if that was not enough, PSG crashed out of the Europa League in the group stages after making such a promising start to the European campaign. Though Kombouare was able to steer PSG back to winning ways, it clearly seemed that he was unable to get the best out of his side especially http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 whose performances have gone way down recently.
Reports now suggest that the likes of Frank Rijkaard and Claude Makelele could be in for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. However, it clearly seems that Carlo Ancelotti might land the coaching job especially after it was revealed that PSG are willing to offer the former AC Milan manager a lucrative 12 million Euros a year deal.
Meanwhile, QIA should ready themselves to face the wrath of French football quarters as many people are infuriated with the unceremonious sacking of Kombouare.
