Dynamo Moscow goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anton-Shunin-c6283, believes that the Moscow-based club has had a terrific Russian Premier League campaign despite finishing 4th in the league table.
Shunin heaped praise on the Dinamiki, congratulating his side after securing UEFA Europa League qualification. However, he lamented their 1-0 defeat in the Russian Cup final against Rubin Kazan at Yekaterinburg stadium.
“We wanted to play in Europe and got it. We all like to play in the Champions League but I think we deserved fourth place in the standings.” Shunin was quoted as saying.
The prolific shot-stopper, who had joined the Russian outfit in 2004, has conceded that they would have secured a UEFA Champions League berth along with the Russian Cup had all the players remained fit.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper revealed that he is happy with the progress the White-blues have made over the years despite losing out on Champions League football. He urged his team-mates to improve and assured the fans of working
hard next season.
Shunin went on to express a desire to play in the Champions League again, revealing that the club deserves to play in Europe after a splendid season. Dynamo managed to reach the third qualifying round in the continental tournament,
the last time they played in the Champions League.
Commenting on the media speculations linking their manager, Sergei Silkin, with a possible move away from Arena Khimki this summer, Shunin has denied the reports, conceding that the entire squad is united under their manager at
the moment.
“I can say that the atmosphere within the team has been excellent throughout the season. There are no conflicts, quarrels, misunderstandings between the coach and the players.” The Russian goalkeeper concluded.
Media reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 suggest that the White-blues are set to sack Silkin following their failure to win the domestic cup in seventeen years. However, Shunin has revealed that they should not blame their manager for the failure,
insisting that they have a fantastic manager.
