Italy coach insists that he is happy to see the striker recover from the heart surgery, and believes that appearing consistently for AC Milan will help the player psychologically.
Italy boss Cesare Prandelli is out on a tour to visit Serie A clubs in order to finalise his squad before the start of the Euro 2012. The Azzurri manager visited AC Milan in his latest voyage, and has expressed his satisfaction over the progress of Antonio
Cassano from the worrying surgery.
The striker underwent a career-threatening heart surgery following diagnosis by the doctors, and recently commenced playing again for the Rossoneri after a six-month break from the game.
Prandelli insisted that he has closely followed the progress of the striker, and insisted that he is delighted to see the player coming back strong from the worrying injury. The manager stated that it is important for a player in Cassano’s position to play
as many games as possible, as it will speed up his total recovery from the long break.
The Azzurri chief stated that he is happy to see Cassano bounce back from the grievance with a strong resolve, and insisted that he could feel that the aggressor is in a good mental state.
While talking to AC Milan’s official channel, the former Fiorentina manager said:
“I’m seeing that Antonio is playing more and more for the Rossoneri. This is important for a player like him. He’s in a good place psychologically. I was interested in coming here so I could see his motivation. I’m satisfied with today’s contact.”
Cassano had been a regular member of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926’s playing XI before the injury, and Prandelli has already stated that he will wait for the striker’s recovery until the last moment, before making his final selection for Euro 2012.
However, with Cassano back in the game, his inclusion in the Azzurri squad for the European tournament is yet to be confirmed by the manager.
The AC Milan goal scorer has made three appearances from the Rossoneri’s last four league games.
The Azzurri chief is set to visit Genoa in the next stopover of his club tour.
