The Juventus boss was speaking to the press after their victory against Palermo, and mentioned that he preferred being in control of things and leading the table.
The Bianconeri were previously leading the Serie A standings until their streak of draws in the league meant that they lost their top spot to AC Milan. However, Juve have
turned a corner and have been in a great streak of form. This coupled with the recent start-stop form of Milanello meant that it was only time before the Turin giants overtook the San Siro outfit.
Juventus knew that they needed a victory to secure top spot of the Serie A, after Milan slipped at home against relegation battling Fiorentina. Conte’s men performed exceptionally
well and put in a thorough professional performance, securing a 2-0 victory over Palermo courtesy of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Quagliarella-c13194.
In his post match interview, Conte stated:
“I always prefer to lead because that way you depend on nobody except yourself. We did well to take advantage of Milan’s two recent slip-ups.”
The former Bari manager conceded that there is still a long way to go till the end of the season, with seven matches still remaining in the Serie A. However, he stated that
he is confident that his side would carry on the momentum. Speaking of his experiences as a player, the former Juventus player mentioned:
“I know it’s better to be in front, because as a player and a Coach I have been in these situations.”
The Bianconeri head coach is extremely impressed with the performance put in by his troops and lauded their high concentration levels. He further commented:
“Even when playing attacking football, we risk very little at the back thanks to the concentration of all the lads who step on to the field. You can see our growth by the
fact we are more patient now too, as I told the players to be less hasty. We are still unbeaten and this makes us very proud.”
With seven rounds remaining in the Lega, it is still anyone’s Scudetto to win, and Milan would be hoping to get back to winning ways to retain their status as the Italian
champions.
