The Juventus boss is lamenting the penalty decision turned down by the referee, and has stated that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sebastian-Giovinco-c32724 dived for his penalty claim.
Juventus’ rescheduled game of matchday 21 finished as a goalless stalemate at Stadio Ennio Tardini on Wednesday, February 15.
A win could have put the Turin giants ahead of A.C Milan in the Serie A standings, but they could not capitalise and witnessed yet another draw against a mid-table outfit. Antonio Conte’s men had several appeals for a penalty turned
down by the referee.
The Old Lady boss also blasted Parma’s claims of a penalty-kick, remarking, “There was absolutely nothing in Parma’s appeal, as Sebastian Giovinco dived”.
Conte maintained a strong stance on his team’s claims for a spot-kick, and insisted that video evidence would be conclusive in realising the diving claims made by the opposition. While speaking about his side’s claim, he explained,
“As for us, the footage speaks for itself. I think at this stage referees are afraid of giving a penalty to Juventus. We’ve only received one spot-kick this season.”
The Juventus boss has started to lose patience with the referees, stating that the decisions have been going against them since the start of the season. Conte believes that the referees are afraid of giving decisions in his team’s
favour, as the Old Lady have had the fewest penalties so far this season.
The former Atalanta boss feels that the officials need to be brave in making decisions, and has called for a change in refereeing policies.
“At the moment they won’t give us a penalty even if we get killed. We train like animals to play an extraordinary season and just demand fair treatment on a par with everyone else,” said an exasperated Conte who clearly seemed
to have had enough.
Juventus’ claims for a handball were turned down in their draw against AC Siena as well.
La Vecchia Signora remain second in the league table with 46 points from 22 matches. They will face Catania in their next game on Saturday, February 18.
