Antonio Conte has stated that he is relaxed after being made part of the match-fixing probe, and insists that he is innocent.
The Juventus chief will have to appear before investigators to answer questions pertaining to his tenure with Siena, after authorities raided and searched his house as the betting probe gathered pace.
Conte stated that he has always demonstrated sincerity, honesty and trustworthiness, during his career as a player and as a coach. The Bianconeri manager stated that the people who doubt his character should inquire about him from
his contemporaries, in order to get a clear picture about his persona.
The Old Lady head-coach stated that his life is all about pursuit of excellence, and revealed that he even had to bear assaults from mobsters for his unwavering integrity in front of his wife and kids.
The former Robur tactician stated that he had a remarkable success with Siena, and insisted that he will not let anything tarnish the sweet memories of that time.
While talking to the press, the 42-year-old said:
“I have always demonstrated honesty, integrity and loyalty, as well as correctness, both as a player and Coach. You can ask my ex-teammates, my players and even their opponents, to see who Antonio Conte is. I always aim to win
matches. I was assaulted with bats and sticks, in front of my two-year-old daughter and my wife, for my integrity. With Siena we won a remarkable championship with enormous effort. It was a fantastic year and nothing and no one will ruin that season.”
Antonio Conte revealed that he has read the accusations, and stated that the fact that his home was searched in his absence without any contact from the Cremona authorities baffles him.
The Old Lady manager stated that he is confident of his innocence, and maintained that he will not allow the betting probe to ruin his vacation with his family.
The tactician has also been backed by Juventus, while the investigation about his alleged involvement in the match-fixing scandal continues.
