The former AC Siena head coach has spoken against the ban imposed against him for the very first time in a press conference alongside his assistant, Angelo Alessio.
The verdict given against Antonio Conte was surprising for a lot of people and many suggested that brandishing such a lengthy ban, given the lack of evidence is appalling. Antonio Conte has not spoken against the verdict till now, but his patience has run
out and in a press conference, he laid out everything that was in his heart over the situation that he found himself in.
The suspension came about after the FIGC found the former Juventus player guilty of the allegations imposed towards him by former Siena player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Filippo-Carobbio-c13775. He had appealed against the ban that was imposed against him, however, there was no reduction
in the length of his ban, but he was able to clear the charges levied against him with regards to the Novara-Siena match.
There were two charges against him and he was only able to overturn the verdict given to him on one of those counts, the Albinoleffe-Siena allegations stood and were not cleared.
Antonio Conte had called on a press conference along with Angelo Alessio, and the Juve head coach went on to state that he felt that the time was right to speak out against the injustice against them.
He remarked that allegations of such huge proportions against a person who had done his utmost to withhold rules and regulations were absurd and downright degrading.
Antonio Conte did not leave out any blows and remarked that he was flabbergasted by the judgement against him and his compatriot, and also mentioned that the remarks made by a judge were very unbecoming of his stature. He further mentioned:
“I’ve always respected the rules, on and off the pitch. I have comported myself in the right way throughout this whole affair. Yesterday seemed to be the icing on the cake. I was left appalled by what was said by one of the commission’s judges. Who, perhaps
in order to make the papers, said some unusual things.”
Juventus football club have given their backing to the duo and stated that they are behind the personnel in their fight against the alleged bans.
