The Turin boss was referring to the points dropped against Chievo, and has advised his team not to over analyse and to concentrate on their match against Bologna.
Juventus have been unbeaten throughout this campaign, but as a consequence of drawing too many matches, they are still not at the Serie A summit.
A win against Chievo Verona would have put the Turin giants a solitary point behind AC Milan, albeit with a game in hand. However, the Old Lady could only muster a draw against mid-table Chievo.
This has led to talks that Juventus are blowing their chances of winning the Scudetto with excessive draws. Consequently, during his pre-match conference against Bologna, Conte was asked his opinion and whether
his team’s morale went south due to the predicament at hand.
While talking to the press, Conte opined:
“My question is this - why should I get depressed for an extraordinary League campaign that we are producing? Until now, this effort had led us to become competitive again, to be respected on the field again,
to be feared again, to find opponents that give 150 per cent to try to beat us, to find teams that still try to beat us.”
Conte has been lucky with injuries this season, but Juventus will be going into their match against Bologna with a huge setback. Their first-choice defenders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giorgio-Chiellini-c14963, are both
out of action due to the injuries they sustained recently. The latter will be out for 10 days, while the former is out for 20 days due to calf strains.
The Old Lady head-coach believes that it was inevitable that such a situation will arise during the course of the season, but conceded that losing such an integral part of the team will be difficult to replace.
The Juve tactician was later quizzed over the choice he would opt for in attack, and stated:
“...what remains in consideration is that someone scores.... Each time, I try to choose those who in my opinion are most suitable.”
The match will be played at Stadio Dall’Ara on Wednesday, March 7.
