Mexican fighter who only wants to win. He lost his first opportunity of being the WBC lightweight champion was against Edwin Valero of Venezuela which he lost. The fight went on for 9 rounds and Antonio was being badly beaten up by the champion.
By the 9th round, Antonio’s manager asked the referee to stop the fight. However, later Antonio said he wanted to fight another round and he knew he would have won.
He said, “I'm a Mexican fighter, I never wanted to quit but my trainer saw that Edwin was just a better fighter.” When the fight ended, Valero was eight points up on the scorecards of all three judges.”
