The former Golden Boot winner remarked on the Pozzo family and was confident in their ability to run the club. Despite his confidence in the owners, he was saddened that players of high quality were leaving the club; however, he also remarked:
“The Pozzo family has been in charge of Udinese for many years and always got results. It’s a shame for the players who are leaving, but Udinese know what to do and we’ve brought in some talented lads. They should be able to settle so we can have a good
campaign.”

Di Natale went on to comment on his aspiration to make it to the next major international tournament, which would be the FIFA World Cup in 2014, and he responded:
“It was a great experience. Now I have the last two years of my career in front of me. Will I be at the World Cup in 2014? If the Coach wants to bring me with him, then I’d be happy. I am at his disposal.”
