Widely acknowledged as the bargain of last season, Nocerino has reiterated that only the first game of the season has been played and that Milan will come good.
The Rossoneri midfielder was phenomenal last season and grew during the course of last season to impose his authority on the Serie A. He scored many vital goals and scored more than 10 goals during the season; a notable feat for any midfielder.
His performances during last season ensured his selection in the Italian team which played extremely well to reach the finals of the European Championships in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983. The role of Nocerino has changed to quite a degree at the club; after playing
in the shadows of legends like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148; Nocerino sees himself as a senior member of the squad after a mass exodus at the club.
The number of departures at the club has seen many pundits and fans doubting Milan’s ability to perform to their usual expectations. Many have predicted a finish out of the top three of the Serie A, and Nocerino has a few things to say to such doubters.
He remarked that even though they are extremely disappointed at losing their opening fixture to Sampdoria, there is still a long way to go, and went on to give an example as well.
He remarked:
“We’re disappointed to have lost, but there’s no need to start crying. It’s the first day of the season. We started slow last year as well but then we picked things up. I still have trust in this team because we’ll get a bit of luck and we’ll get better
in terms of fitness.”
He went on to state that the club has had a hiccup but they are one of the most successful clubs around the world, and that does not happen without a reason. He reminded the team to work harder in their upcoming matches, and perform to the expectations that
they are known for, and said:
“We’ll all have to roll up our sleeves, put our heads down and get to work.”
Milan lost to Sampdoria 1-0 at the San Siro on the opening day of the season.
