Antonio Valencia's operation successful
Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has undergone successful surgery on his injured ankle.
Valencia fractured and dislocated his left ankle during the 0-0 draw against Rangers in the Champions League on Tuesday night. United has confirmed that the player will be out for a number of months and
possibly the rest of the season.

A spokesperson for Manchester United said: "The operation went well.
A plate has been inserted to stabilise the fracture but there is obvious significant ligament damage that follows a dislocation and he will be out for a good portion
of the season."
Valencia has started the season very well for United. He will be a big miss because he is one of the most creative players in the club. Another player will now get a chance
to come into the side.
A big miss
It was clear from the match with Rangers that United lacks creative players at the moment because of the low number of chances created. Valencia looked like the only United
player who could make something happen against the Scottish team and he will be hugely missed.
Valencia is very comfortable on the ball and this is important when United tries to break down stubborn sides. There will now be a greater emphasis on ageing players in
the squad such as Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. These players will have to double efforts to compensate for Valencia's absence.
The Ecuadorian will be equally missed away from the pitch. He is one of the few United players that doesn't seem to have an ego and he will have many friends in and around
the club. His positive presence away from the pitch helps keep morale and squad harmony balanced.
Valencia's injury opens up a chance for someone else to come into the team. Nani looks the most likely player to hold down a regular starting place. The Portuguese should
thrive now he has a chance he wasn't expecting.
