After his stunning performance in the 100m butterfly final, James has booked a place for the upcoming FINA 2011 World Championships to be held in Shanghai, this July.
Immediately after the completion of the race, James stated, “I've really knuckled down in training over the past three months and that showed in that performance.”
James further added, “I didn't expect to go quite as fast as I did as I know there are a few areas I can improve on. It shows it’s going in the right direction. To make the team is very special to me as I want to use it to gain valuable experience.”
Simon Burnett secured the second spot in the Men’s 100m butterfly final with a victorious time of 53.04 seconds. Joseph Roebuck clinched the third position on the podium with a time of 53.28 seconds.

a time of 1 minute and 49.58 seconds.
While speaking about his performance in the Men’s 200m freestyle relay final, Renwick said, “That felt quite comfortable despite being a bit jaded after last night's 400m event. I'm just so pleased to have the qualifying time. I know I have more in me and
that race gives me a chance to step up again in Shanghai.”
