Ants, vinegar and my furniture?

Thank you all for answering a previous question. The thing i'm going to try first this weekend is the vinegar spray. is it safe to spray vinegar on my cloth couch? They ants have gotten up there because ahh hmm, someone left an icecream bowl there.

whether you spray vinegar...home defense.... or what ever to discourage the ants running about all you are dealing with are foraging ants which will be less than 5% of the ant colony causing you problems...stop them on the couch they will move over to the chair..bathroom..candy dish etc.... you need to find out what sort of ant they are to determine what they will feed on.  For protein feeding ants use Combat gel bait...for sugar feeding ants use Terro.... you need to address the colony not the individual foraging ants
