We have had problems with ants on and off for the past year, they aren't even coming in for food. They are in the lounge room and bathroom not in the kitchen or cupboards it weird. We have tried ant sand, ant rid, surface sprays insidae and out and nothing budges them...does anyone have a sure fire way to get rid of ants???

  1. I do to. Buy ant spray and make sure your house is 100 percent clean with no crumbs or food anywhere. (The spray is just in case). when i say no food i mean on the floor and counter and table because they sense it from a mile away. Oh and make sure your bathroom is clean no water on the floor because ants drink too. And im only 11 (for almost a week). So I don't know what a lounge room is.

  2. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

  3. First--you need to know what ant you are dealing with. some ants like carpenter ants and fire ants may be nesting or starting to nest in your walls or foundation of your home. Carpenter ants can really be destucive if left untreated. These are usually larger size ants. Ants like the Pharoah ant are much smaller and may be looking for water if your area is particuarly dry. You can contact your local County Extension Agent and he can determine type of ant and best course of action. Best of all---his advice is free.  If nothing else---Walmart carries a 9 month barrier spray that works well  on ants and roaches. You spray it around baseboards of interior and exterior of foundation. It works well for my home.

  4. this is a traditional way of getting rid of insects: take any sort of container a plate or anything and put some honey into it. place the plate near a home of ants. then wait a day or two and WALA all of the ants are stuck to the honey because they are attracted to it. then do the same for any other ant homes. your house should be free of ants in a week or so.

PS make sure the container is a container that allows ants to climb it.

  5. try a little ant home it attracts them then you move it outside they love it so much you take it outside they follow
