Ants in my room!?

im starting to notice that there are a few ants in my room. i havnt found a colony or anything but they just keep showing up. there isnt any food in my room or drinks because i clear that out often, but im still starting to find them. my room is messy though. clothes and paper all over my room. im just having a hard time trying to get rid of them.

is there anything i could buy to get rid of them. or any suggestions on getting rid of them would be very helpful :)

  1. A few ants in your room means that you have an ant colony nearby.

    The easiest way to rid your room of ants would be to find the colony and destroy it. You'll need to buy some pesticide, though.

    First, look for the colony.  It could be up-to 500 feet from your room, but it's probably closer. If you find one or more nests, drench the mound with the insecticide, if the label allows you to do so.  [always follow the label instructions... always]

    Drenching the mound directly will help prevent the colony from "budding", which is to branch off, split and evacuate the area to form two colonies, doubling your problem.

    By the way, cinnamon/sugar mix won't work. Ants don't eat cinnamon - period.  See the link below for information on how ants eat.


  2. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.  This way you don't have to know where they are coming from.
