  1. Feed them corn meal. They eat it. They take it back to their nest and feast on it. They can't digest it and it kills them. Also, corn meal won't harm children or pets.

They are a royal nuisance. I wipe down with vinegar after I see them trail away with their stash of cornmeal and they don't seem to come back. Once the queen has been fed the cornmeal there's no more breeding because she's the only female who lays the eggs.

  2. This site has some great tips.  I tried several.  50/50 water & Alcohol in a spray bottle kills them instantly.  You have to figure out where they are coming from and seal up any cracks.  I used ant block across the thresholds.  I have a brick house that has weeping holes.  I put bay leaves in every weeping hole & haven't seen an ant in 2 months.

  3. Terro works the best of anything I've tried.  You put little dots on pieces of cardboard.  For a few days you have a crazy lot of ants coming in to get the stuff, but after 3 or 4 days, no more ants at all!  You can get Terro at hardware and general stores.

    Good luck!

  4. We use Raid Ant Killer. Again, it is thick liquid drops. We put them on a piece of waxed paper right where the ants are. Sit back and watch them feast! They carry the poison back to their colony and it kills them. I don't think they carry infection. My Grannie says she doesn't mind ants because they are a 'clean insect'. lol
