  1. Don't worry about the ants eating the termites worry about the termites eating your house.  Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot all carry the below Ortho for termite control for HOME USE....

    No tenting of the house.

    Stop the destruction.................

Ortho® Home Defense MAX® Termite & Destructive Bug Killer Concentrate****** (Trenching)****************

  2. If you have both ants and termites in your home then you have a serious problem with moisture. One won't kill the other. When you solve the moisture problem then you can solve the ant and termite problem.

  3. Ants wont kill termites. Termites are horrible to have in your house. I bought a fixer-upper house that had termites. Price was great, termites not so great. The damage they did to this house cost me thousands of dollars to repair. I called Terminix and paid about $2,000 initially cause of the size of my large house. It was well worth it though. You wouldn't believe the damage. Carpenter ants will also do the same and eat your house. I suggest having a pro handle it. Treating it yourself is still going to cost alot of money. Termites live feet into the ground so they are more difficult to treat. Plus with a pro they guarentee your termites will be gone or they will pay for any new damage done. The first treatment will be costly depending on the footage of the outside of your house. But after that its not bad. I pay about $300 a year for my house and it is pretty big. Treat them now before they do more damage, they are quick and eat fast especially if you have 1,000's and 1,000's like I did. Good Luck!

  4. there are different species of ants that will eat termites but they will not be able to really make an impact on a termite problem

  5. No. Termites eat wood, ants eat other things.

If you have termites you need to get rid of them today. If you are seeing termite damage it may already be too late. This is as serious as a hole in the bottom of your boat in the middle of the ocean. Termites are fatal to a house.

I don't know what part of the country you are in, but throughout most of the U.S. you are supposed to have a termite bond on the house for protection. This covers yearly treatments and inspections, and will cover any termite damage.

    Good luck.

  6. Soak the foundation around the house with an ant/termite killer like Triazicide, follow directions. My 3BR ranch takes about three watering cans of mix. I do it annually, but in the South land you may want to do it twice a year, early spring and late fall. These insects are related.

  7. Hey!   I don't know who gave Yada Yada a thumbs down, but they were WRONG!

I do pest removal as a part of my job, and as far as ants and termites go.

WHO CARES WHO EATS WHO........JUST GET RID OF THEM BOTH, really your house is in serous danger from both critters!

  8. I have used BENGAL spray for years on rental properties,Ants,Roaches,Silver Fish,Wasp,Spiders etc.etc, and it really works well,it comes with a Money back Guarantee, and you can purchase it at any Ace Hardware store! Look for a can with the Picture of a Bengal Tiger on it or ask one of the sales people! It has little or no smell. If you have Termites call Orkin for experience!

  9. Ants and termites are friendly in nature. You can only apply anti termites if you temporarily vacate your house where the chemicals are hazardous to humanlife. Ants can be erased by a spray.

  10. you are goinng to need the whole house treated for the termites,,,the poison will kill all the ants  as an afterthought.

  11. Ants will not eat wood.Termites will destroy your home really quickly if you don't get an exterminator there rather qucikly.

  12. We have noticed as we are re-habbing that the ants and termites are using the same holes.  I don't know why but they are both there, along with some bugs that look like elongated wide pill bugs.  All of these bugs are present in the wood that is in the worst condition, and we are replacing the wood and treating the entire area for pests, so they don't come back

  13. Unless you have carpenter ants. Nope. They'll keep doing their own things.

I'd really suggest you call a bug exterminator ASAP.
