Anup Sridhar tames Mohit Kamat in Men’s Singles qualifying round of India Open 2013
India’s veteran player Anup Sridhar found a good start as he played with wonderful precision and easily tamed his inexperienced team-mate Mohit Kamat in Men’s Singles qualifying round of Yonex Sunrise India Open 2013 on Tuesday, April 23, in India.
The impressive Sridhar, who has been playing good badminton for the last many years, showed his expertise on court and remained successful in crushing his opponent quite comfortably in just 29 minutes.
Sridhar was in great form as he played with wonderful speed and did not let his challenger to put up strong show. He played attacking badminton and remained successful in winning the battle with a huge 21-11 and 21-12 score on the board.
Meanwhile, the underdog Kamat was completely helpless against the powerful hitting of his experienced compatriot. He tried to play competitive badminton but failed to get control of rallies and eventually lost the battle in a one-sided manner.
It was a crunchy fight in the initial points when Sridhar showed a wonderful display of his craft in the arena. He was quite confident in his shot selection and execution.
The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first game and the impressive Sridhar impressed local crowd with his lofty skills.
Sridhar proceeded with a stunning speed in the starting half and remained ahead on score board until the interval without facing any trouble from his challenger.
The lofty Sridhar remained comfortable on court after the one-minute interval as he played in the similar fashion.
Sridhar was very calm and composed on court as he did not play negative badminton and finished up the first set with a dominating difference of 21-11.
Kamat was once again in trouble in the second game as he received a severe treatment from his opponent who was at his best in the arena.
Sridhar displayed his impressive skills in the arena by picking the bird early from all corners and maintained his domination over his opponent.
The attacking and positive play in the ending half of second set helped Sridhar to grab the set with a stunning 21-12 total on the board.
