  1. There is something called Generalized Anxiety Disorder (link below) which may be what you are experiencing.

However, only a trained mental health professional can determine this diagnosis (as well as medical doctors with virtually no training in mental health).

While I do not dispute that medication can be helpful for some people most of the research shows that medication is no better than a placebo and often is only effective for a short period of time.

On the other hand counseling and behavioral changes offer more difficult (you have to do something other than swallow a pill) but more effective and longer lasting relief.

The very popular chemical imbalance theory has no valid causal supporting evidence. In other words there is no evidence that your anxiety doesn't cause a chemical imbalance rather than a chemical imbalance causing your anxiety.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you in this matter.

    Psi

  2. I agree with Deenie (doesn't happen very often- lol).

There is quite possibly a physical cause for how you are feeling and the first step would be to talk to your doctor about it.

It's good to see that psiexplorer is an expert on mental health as well as the paranormal- does this man's talent have no bounds?

  3. General population bludging off honest, intellectually active individuals, and the thoughts these psychological vampires have are just toxic. And you pick up on them cause you're living a REAL life.

    And that's causing anxiety.

  4. Before you go on psycho-drugs, try this:

Learn how to meditate, meditate daily.

Stop eating sugary sweets and junk food. Avoid packaged foods, eat fresh vegetables, fruits, meats and chicken. Organic if you can. Sugars and sweets especially cause mood swings.

Exercise daily,  for an hour. Exercise will help balance your feelings.

You should try the natural methods first before resorting to dangerous drugs. Give the natural methods at least 2 or 3 weeks to kick in.

  5. Have you been doing anything out of the ordinary?

    New exercise plan?

    Changed your diet?

    Quit smoking?

    New job?

Any changes in your love life?

If your area has been undergoing a lot of rain, very few sunny days, that could also contribute.

There are over the counter mood calmers............

chamomile tea, kava kava, valarium root.

And if you're starting to feel overwhelmed, do something that calms your nerves, such as reading, potting plants, drawing, clay sculpturing, etc.

  6. You don't have any reason to have panic attacks. I don't know if that's what you're having...but you need to google it just to make sure. You've probably got a chemical imbalance...which medication will help. I'm sure it's nothing paranormal...unless you're empathetic and picking up on other people's feelings.

Edit...Psi...I agree that counseling helps to learn how to deal with it...but from experience...medication has totally helped me. Before I found the right one..I always felt like I had my hand stuck in an electrical outlet. Well..not just my hand....When I found the right one...I wanted to tell EVERYBODY  who was going through the same thing I had. Not that I feel great...just not in agony like I was before.

Edit..TB..Thanks for "mercy" lol....I've heard that Psi DOES have knowledge in this department.

Edit..I didn't mean for you to rush out & get drugs or a pres. for medication. I just meant..I went most of my life with super anxiety & panic attacks. People would just say.."You're just nervous!" DUH!! Then after years of stress it became full blown. If you've had stress..it might have caught up with you...and medication CAN help..if other things don't. I tried lots of things. They were like using a feather to give a massage. Hopefully ...the other things will work for you.Medication can damage your liver etc. eventually.

  7. Pay heed to your body, it is trying to tell you something.

First tell and adult that you trust what is happening. Then make sure you have your own secure zone. Do you feel safe? In your home, room, school or place of work? Are you getting enough sleep followed by a balanced diet?

What major life changes have you had in the last six months? Don't exclude moving to a new place,  parents or siblings remarrying or pets dying I mean look at your whole life. If you are like most people pat yourself on the back because 'life is h**l' sometimes. After that ask yourself are you hungry for something, do you get enough 'down time', 'togetherness time'. d**n! Have you even been hugged recently?? Have you had a good cry?  I'm a man but the sh*t creeps up on me too!

Lastly be yourself, don't be afraid of asking for help from professionals (preacher, cop, very close confidant, psychic, and yes even shrinks as a last option). Treat yourself for being noble to 'your cause', 'being you' and thank yourself for having protected yourself all of this time and in the future.

There isn't a person alive that won't go through what you are going through at least once in their lives. Have courage, go forward..

  8. I don't want to blow psi's cover, but he does have professional expertise in this area and gave a great answer (thumbs up). The only thing I can add is from own experience, which is that sometimes it's hard to pinpoint what's causing the stress. That sounds weird since you'd think it would be obvious, but sometimes it just isn't. You asked this in parapsychology, so I assume that you think that there might be some paranormal explanation, but I would say that the human mind is so complex as it is that it's not necessary to appeal to supernatural explanations for why you're stressed. The only advice I can give you here is to talk with a licensed therapist about dealing with your anxiety and he/she will probably be very helpful in identifying where it is coming from.

  9. Anxiety can be caused by the adrenal glands overworking...Have you been eating a lot of sugar/carbs lately...change in diet? Are you urinating a lot more?? Have a doctor or naturopath check your hormones...I had the same problems..Take care
