  1. Google in 'Treatment of Depression' then Google in 'Treatment of Anxiety'  (in fact you could have at least two sections on each of these headings .... then look at the things - medication, therapies etc that they have in common ..... look at the things that make them different from each other .... are they both the same except one is not as bad as the other, for instance?  Look at statistics for depression, self-harm, involvement with the police - for teens .... see how you can link up these illness with actual activities = are teens more prone to these illnesses? Why- what makes them different from the adult population - hormones? backgrounds? street culture? music - bands and/or songs that encourage it, discourage it ......

I think you have chosen an extremely interesting subject to do a project on .... however do be aware and careful of getting to involved in it - otherwise your studies could have an effect on you .... make sure you go out with friends and have some humour in your life .....

  2. I've had anxiety all through high school and not even out of it. My anxiety for the most part caused my depression because I felt as if i was not able to have social contact (that I really needed and wanted). I was first diagnosed with depression but the more the doctors saw me they rerealized that treating the depression wasn't going to work ins ted fixing the anxiety could help with both.

anxiety and depression can cause eachother

    anxiety can cause depression

    and depression can cause anxiety

its a terribly lonley cycle and sometimes can be hard to work through

more women are dignosed with anxiety than men

cognitive therapy is most commonly used to treat anxiety

  3. I got anxiety when I was 19 years old. Anxiety is a constant struggle for many Americans, especially women! Anxiety causes many symptoms such as vision problems, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, tension headaches, dizziness, etc. It can also lead to more serious problems such as depression. Depression and anxiety are linked together. When I went to the doctor they treated me for not just my anxiety disorder but also depression because I had signs of it like crying a lot, and loss of interest. It's a very disturbing disorder and its sad because so many people have it. You can take medication for both anxiety and depression however you have to be careful because some meds like the fast acting ones are considered addictive. I do know a couple of websites on anxiety and for anxiety sufferers. Also if you go to google and type in anxiety disorder you will find so many websites that explain to you that it is when a person has excessive worrying that interferes with their daily lives such as work, school, etc. Good luck with your project!!

  4. I suffer from both anxiety and depression and I have all my life. I am 61.I rely on good medication and have had therapy.  You have a problem looking for sites.  The sites are for people who suffer to support each other, and they don't like to be used as guinea pigs for projects, papers etc.
