Can anybody explain some symptoms of anxiety? Some background on it maybe? I've heard some about anxiety but, I need some more detail. And is it possibly to have a case of anxiety but, a bit more, moderate? As in not as severe? But still causes problems?

  1. I have a daughter who suffers from anxiety, she is always plagued by some kind of worry, agitation or emotional quandary or upset.  She actually doesn't have a calm day, so she doesn't understand a calm state.  She self medicated and got into more trouble, after 2 rehabs and even a diagnosis of bi-polar (which is the old manic depressive) she still refuses medication.  She hates the stigma of "drugs" and side effect in her mind of weight gain.  Its worse now at 25, sober and 2 kids, as her anxiety is off the wall, daily.  I can't help her and her zelous over religious husband won't empower her to get help or take her meds. We are all at her mercy and its darn depressing esp for her kids.  So I say take a pill     try it for a month at least.  Trust your doc and if one med isn't doing it, try a couple others till you get one that suits you.

  2. Signs and symptoms of anxiety disorders

Because the anxiety disorders are a group of related conditions rather than a single disorder, they can look very different from person to person. One individual may suffer from intense anxiety attacks that strike without warning, while another gets panicky at the thought of mingling at a party. Someone else may struggle with a disabling fear of driving or uncontrollable, intrusive thoughts. Still another may live in a constant state of tension, worrying about anything and everything.
