  1. I specialize in stress and anxiety.  Try this - it's quick and works for most.   To prepare to have this "tool" ready for use in a serious anxiety attack please practice it a few times.

    1.   Think about where you usually feel that anxiety - tightness anywhere in the body?  Stomach churning?  Head feeling dizzy, or flush?  Heart pounding?  Just identify where you usually feel it first.

    2.  Next,  take a few moments to think of a time when you felt very safe, really happy and joyful even!  A loved one, a safe, beautiful place, whatever is right for you.

    3.  Think about these "feel good thoughts" until they make you smile.  Now you are going to "ANCHOR" that good feeling to bring it back to you quickly.

    4.  To "anchor" it,  while you still have that great feeling, take a deep breath and place your hand on that part of your body.  Really let the feelings of peace, calm, happiness spread through you.

    5.  Now, with your hand still resting on your head/chest/stomach say outloud with a smile "Anxiety passes in less than 5 minutes, so I'll be fine.  I am fine."

    6.  Repeat this statement several times (you'll know when it's enough).

    7.  Do this whole process several times a day for the next few days and see how you begin processing anxiety differently.

    That's it!

Anxiety - or that Fight or Flight response - doesn't last more than a few minutes.  It is real, and it is a very uncomfortable state of mind/body!  But, it will pass fairly quickly when you don't engage it... This isn't just a distraction, it's a "tool" to use to train yourself out of your old way of responding, and gaining a healthier, happier way!

    Hope this helps.

  3. Ok I am sometimes like you are?

So what I do is to relax close your eyes make sure you are in an empty room no noise, relax your body from your toes until your head, don't think anything just make your mind empty for 10 minutes everyday try this it really helps.

    Thank You

  4. My therapist told me two things that really helped me:  The first thing is a breathing technique, you take five breaths and for each one you inhale while counting to five, hold it while counting to five, and exhale slowly while counting to five - you do this five times, I guess the counting distracts you and the breathing just helps to calm you.  The second thing is to imagine yourself in your favorite place, the place that makes you feel the most comfortable and safest (like your bedroom) and imagine that everything surrounding you is your favorite color (like pink pillows) and imagine your favorite song playing, etc.  This doesn't sound like it would help, but it actually does.  Hope this helps!

  5. If you bandaid the problem, it will only return......go to the following web page and read on the lions Mane........

www.online-ganoderma.com/whiteraven     it is a neurological healer......have seen many great results from it.

  6. bio-feedback.... it not only relaxes your mind and body, alleviates the anxiety... but it can also control pain if you get good enough.

You need to lay down somewhere in a darkened room. Take deep long slow breaths, with your eyes closed start visualizing your muscles (one by one) relaxing starting with your head. If you feel yourself starting to tighten up again go back to the beginning... sometimes it takes a few tries.

My father taught me bio-feedback when I was a kid....it was the only way to get rid of my migraines... he was so good at it that he could change his heart rythm.

It will work, if you let it.

  7. I have anxiety so bad sometimes it feels like my head is going to explode.  What I have started doing is taking deep breathes, and drinking a cold glass of water which helps to calm me down.  Also getting away from the area you're stressing will keep you from freezing up.  Drinking green tea helps warm up your innards and relax.  Then try to figure out what triggered it when you're calmer.  It won't stop them but helps you control them better, and reduce the length.  You're not alone.  Keep your medication on hand for the more severe attacks and monitor how it affects your daily actvities.
