Any 1 out there know the HEAD torque sequence on a 1996 3.0 Taurus?

I had to redo the heads and looking for the torque sequence ect.

  1. centre out big , bolts first


  2. don't know sequence sorry  but if can get manual on your car a diagram and step by step will be in there under heading of replacing head gasket.

       any good car shop or halfords will or can get manual needed  

  3. You will need to tighten the head bolts in a circular pattern starting from the center and working your way out. I recommend hand tightening all the bolts before beginning the torque sequence. Head bolt torque: For older style 10mm head bolts : 35 - 45 - 45 - and a 1/4 turn; For newer style 11mm head bolts : 45 - 65 - 65 - and a 1/4 turn

    This is information given to me when I did a head gasket replacement on my old saturn... It applys to all vehicles.

  4. Start in the middle and work out as a circle. It's like smoothing a wrinkle.. That's the pattern form Torque in 2 stages, snug then tight.
