Any 1 tried the Coin Trick

any one remember in those old cartoons a guy would drill a hole in quarter , tie a string around it and put it in a vending machine then pop the coin out. i want to know if any 1 has ever tried it?

No, I have not.  I do not think it would work though because when you put the coin in the slot, it goes into a chamber, and it cannot be removed by the slot anymore.
