Question:

Any Australian Studbook members?

I just bought a lovely 5yo TB and I was wondering if anyone could help me look him up. Even if you could just tell me his name (and maybe birthdate or ID number) so it's easier to find him later, as I plan on joining the ASB but my parents are away so I don't have access to a credit card or cheque at the moment to pay the $35.

The brand on his right side is 46 over 3 (and I know he's rising 5 not 15)

The brand on his left side is S

He's a 17hh (about), 5yo, chestnut TB gelding, with two back white socks.

He was named Spider (from the S brand) by my instructor/stable managers as they bought him at the sales and didn't know anything about him. I don't know his Aust. ID or his microchip (we're gunna get the vet to check next time). I'm in NSW.

Thanks! Any help would be great. I just want to know a bit about my new baby lol.

  1. Ok definitely helps if you have the name of the horse! I found my mare "Mistress in Paris" who is now 18, on the studbook registry but I had her registration book which helps a lot! Ok, well I think you can make enquiries about your horse on the studbook website? or maybe if you know which state your horse raced in mainly you could check out the studs in the area (just email them or give them a call which you can usually find their number and email address on their website) I'd just tell them his markings and if possible send them a photo. It might take some time but it's well worth it :) I found my mares racing records and her silks it was pretty amazing! especially since it was a fair while ago now.

  2. Well unless you have id or mircochip i don't think you find that exact horse but if you put the brand in to the brand search then you can contact the stud that bred him and find out the rest and sorry, i'm not a member, i know my uncle is and i'm trying to get the info off him so i can find my tb mare myself.
